Bringing a new look to the media industry
From a young age, Nia has always loved communicating, speaking and being a leader.
Nia's passion for communication truly blossomed when she attended POLYTECH High School. There at POLYTECH she learned various production and multimedia techniques in the
Broadcast Media Shop. Throughout her 3 years there she was the schools' weather girl and learned how to use Adobe Photoshop, Adobe After Effects and became certified in Adobe Premiere Pro.
Nia's dedication and drive for Mass Communications landed her multiple internships with various companies and organizations.
In 2017, Nia auditioned and was chosen out of over 500 applicants to attend GRAMMY Camp and was accepted into their music journalism program at The University of Southern California. During her time there she interviewed musicians and publicists on their influence in the music industry. She also has a published interview with MSO PR Senior Vice President Alexandra Greenberg on the GRAMMY in the schools website.
In 2019, she landed the role of webmaster for WDSU Radio Station the Hive, where she incorporated her creativity to bring a new look to the website. Nia graduated Cum Lade from Delaware State University as a part of the Spring Class of 2022 and majored in Mass Communications with a double concentration in Digital Media and Public Relations and Advertising at Delaware State University. Following graduating Nia was invited to New York to participate in an episode of Jamila's Jams. In addition to this accomplishment, Nia and her team at Delaware State University applied for a $40,000 Production Grant through Coca-Cola and the Academy and won.
Nia's love for Mass Communications and talent for producing and writing have caused her to attract many multimedia professionals. Some of her most significant moments were reporting for the Delaware State News, broadcasting for the City of Dover, interning at Comcast Newsmakers, NBC10 Philadelphia, APPLE, and writing for the GRAMMY Foundation. Nia works currently as a production assistant with NFL Films in New Jersey. During the football season, Nia was a part of the production team for the HBO Sports and NFL Films show Hard Knocks in Season on HBO, and assisted with logging footage for The Playoffs and the Super Bowl. Currently, Nia is a part of the production team for the Foreign Academy football club an d a travel videographer and camera operator with the company DanceBug.
When Nia isn't working or spending time with loved ones, she's constantly trying to develop new ways to expand her knowledge of Mass Communications whether it be producing, writing, or researching.
